This
site is mostly about my earlier work as an industry research at
Interval Research. I’ll be redesigning and updating it soon. In the
meantime, here’s a recent bio:
Debby Hindus is a Silicon Valley entrepreneur-at-large and expert in innovative
user experiences. She is currently advising two young companies, Mefeedia and Holox Technologies, following the acquisition of her previous company,
Rapport Incorporated, a reconfigurable computing company. As Rapport’s co-founder and VP Strategic
Alliances, Ms. Hindus worked closely with Rapport’s major partners, with IBM
as a particular focus. She has recently been consulting on user interaction
architecture for enterprise applications.
Ms. Hindus is a
technologist and applications designer in addition to being a veteran
commercial software product developer. She focused on consumers,
communications, technology and the home while at Interval Research
Corporation in Palo Alto,
CA, from its founding in 1992
until its closing in 2000.. She taught a new
Stanford course on The Design of Domestic and Consumer Technologies. Her
earlier work addressed a new kind of computer-mediated communication, the audio
space, and the design of user interactions within an audio space.
Ms. Hindus holds an MS
degree from the MIT Media Lab and a BSCS degree from the University of Michigan.
She has spoken at numerous industry conferences, participated in FCC
proceedings and been active in industry standards and advocacy
consortia. In addition, Ms. Hindus is
known for her presentations at academic conferences and universities, along
with numerous publications and six U.S. patents.
